The Mustangs stormed out to a 24-0 halftime lead and held on tight, coming away with a 24-22 win over Avon Lake. The defense made most of the headlines, as George Majernik had a 70-yard pick-six and Luke Gilha had a fumble recovery, along with two touchdown receptions. Strongsville hosts the Highland Hornets (0-1) this week for their home opener.
