The Best Fast Food Meals You Will Find

McDonalds recently announced that they will be bringing back the McRib nationwide for the first time since 2012.  Now, while I wouldn’t personally eat a “McRib” if it was soaked in Chocolate sauce and came with a $20 bill, I always like when a restaurant brings back a staple and cult favorite.  My personal choice for them would have been the “Arch Burger”, but that’s okay for now.

What it did get me thinking about however is the best “go to” meal at each of the major fast-food chains around this part of the country.  Grab a napkin, a spork, and an artery and let’s get to it!

McDonalds – A double quarter pounder with Mac Sauce

For years the Big Mac was the face of McDonald’s.  Sadly, the Big Mac has now become the “Little Mac”, and for anyone trying to cut back on carbs, it is just a hot mess with little patties and a whole lot of bread.

My go to at the Golden Arches has become a double quarter pounder with Mac Sauce.  You get the flavor of fresh beef, cooked on the spot and not just warmed up.  Also, the extra 45 cents it cost to add the Mac Sauce is well worth it!

Still hungry?  Grab some nuggets to slam with the spicy buffalo sauce.  Not a nuggie guy?  No worries, they have wraps too, both crispy and grilled.

Arby’s – The Beef and Cheddar on regular bread with Potato Cakes

Who doesn’t like the classic flavor of Arby’s sauce mixed in with some tasty melted cheddar cheese?  All of this on a classic bun and not the onion-based roll.  While the curly fries are an Arby’s original, the potato cakes are just too good to pass up!  Mix in a Jamocha shake and you are happy and filled for hours.

Rally’s / Snapp’s / Checkers – The Rallyburger

The Rallyburger has you covered, today, tomorrow and next week too! Again, it is made with fresh meat and not frozen patties. Top it off with some Lettuce, Tomato, Onion, Ketchup and Mayo, and you are in flavor country!  The also have the best Apple Pies you will find.   You know, when they aren’t too lazy to make them and try to tell you they are out of them.  (sneaky jerks!)

Need Bacon?  Rally’s has the very best BLT you will find on a dollar menu.  It is tiny, so you may need a couple of them, but they taste great and the bacon is always crispy as hell.  They come with a ton of mayo and lettuce as well. Want cheese on the BLT?  No problem, just ask for it.  If they are not too busy breaking the Apple Pie fryer, they will throw cheese on there too.

Mr. Hero – The Romanburger

Ohio’s own, Mr. Hero has been a staple of Northeast Ohio for more years than I can remember.  A family owned tradition made famous by the Romanburger.  I get mine BTE, 10 inch with an ice cold Mountain Dew and Motz Sticks on the side!

If you want the best Mr. Hero meal in Ohio, swing by the Mr. Hero in Fairview on Lorain Road and say hello to my guy Dale! Tell him Vince McKee sent you and you will get the best Mr. Hero sandwich of your life!

Taco Bell – Double Decker Taco

This one is tough for me as they recently removed it from their main menu, along with my other favorites on their menu, the Nacho Supreme and also Double Stack.  If you can’t get your hands on the Double Decker, then the Cheesy Gordita Crunch is also the money order you want to make at 2am.

What made the Double Decker so good was the fact that it combined the best of both worlds.  It was a packed hard-shell taco, loaded with all the fixings.  Wrapped around it was a soft-shell taco and the two were kept together by delicious refried bean dip.

If anyone in the Taco Bell corporate office is reading this, ( and I’m sure they are), please bring this thing back tomorrow!
