Emotions & Honesty Highlight This Weeks Bachelorette Episode

Last nights episode of The Bachelorette proved why it is not always best to be chosen for a solo date.  Eazy found that out the hard way as he was sent home in what some felt to be a surprising move.

Tayshia Adams had said earlier that she chose him for the solo date hoping that she can learn more about him and hopefully cross into the romantic world with him.  It didn’t happen.

Did he freak her out a little bit by telling her that he was falling in love with her?  I sure think so.  As noted, it was the first alone time they had together, and in all reality, a first date.  I don’t know a woman alive who isn’t going to be freaked out just a bit by a guy saying that on the first date. He blew it and that stinks because I really liked him.  He seemed sincere and straight forward, it’s a shame but such is life.

As for the other solo date with Zach, that proved to be very interesting to me.  As someone who had addiction in his family on both sides, I understand how hard it can be.  I had an Uncle on my mothers’ side who struggled with it.  I also had a Grandfather McKee who I only met twice in my entire life because of it.  You will noticed I used the word “had”, as addiction took both lives.

No one chooses to be an addict, but you do choose how you will fight it.  I feel as though Zach was very open with it and faced it head on.  He was smart to wait a while to bring it up, but when he finally did, he didn’t make excuses and by him opening up, impressed Tayshia and earned a ticket/rose to the next round.

Will she let him stick around much longer, I don’t honestly know.  It will now be in the back of her mind the rest of the show.  Will he slip up again?  Can I trust him?  Addiction is a powerful thing and being in a relationship with a recovering addict is a lot to take on.  Tayshia seems very genuine and caring, I don’t think it will scare her away, but I can’t speak for her either.   As I always say, time will tell.

As for the group date, oh man!  Break out the tissue boxes please.  It was hard to watch at times as it went from silly to serious in a heartbeat.  I cannot imagine going on national tv with millions of people watching and revealing some of the things the men had to talk about. While they all took it serious at the end, there were a few that stuck out to me and moved me.

I strongly dislike people who are self-centered and have a sense of entitlement.  Sadly, I know plenty of them and will deal with them the rest of my life.  That being said, when Brendan moved the picture frame sideways and made enough room for Tayshia, I wanted to stand up and cheer.

This is a guy who gets it.  It’s not about taking selfie after selfie of your face and waiting to see the comments flood in, its about building relationships where you truly care about the OTHER person, and not just yourself all the time. To say that one move by Brendan struck a chord, was an understatement.

Riley and Ivan also stole the segment.  Their stories broke my heart and I thought it took everyone away from a dating show, and put us into a situation of reality that actually was reality!  Ivan continues to be humble, honest and open with his emotions.  Same with Riley, that story of his mother tugged at my heart strings along with the simple goals of just wanting a normal family life.  I couldn’t agree more with Riley.

Last but not least was the drama between Bennett and Noah.  It is a shame that two people with obvious intelligence based on their careers in “real life”, can act so stupid.  I have had enough of Bennett’s routine already.  Sadly, in my own life, I have been talked down to by people and it sickens me.  People have no right to do that to complete strangers or someone they barely know.

Don’t judge a book by it’s cover because you never really know.  Bennett pissed me off last night because he continues to act like some know it all father figure that he is not.  I think Tayshia see’s it and will send him packing in the opening moments of next weeks program.

So who goes home next week?

Demar – He has had next to no alone time, and the producers seem to be fading away from him.  Very little camera time once again this week.

Bennett – I think his arrogance outweighs Noah’s immaturity at this point.  Once Tayshia see’s what is in that box, it is all over.

Spencer – From favorite to forgotten about.  The end seems near.
