Final Grades For WWE WrestleMania 35

Elias Rock Concert

Grade – A

Summary – This was great, very well done! Seeing Old School John Cena, maybe for the last time, was perfect. This show didn’t have many highlights, or “Mania” moments, but this was certainly one of them.

HHH pins Batista

Grade – A

Summary – For two guys pushing 50, they didn’t look it. For the second straight year, HHH had one of the best matches on the card. The two men absolutely brought it. The brutality and the emotion was off the charts. There is nothing I would change about this match. Just excellent in every way down to the commentary! It was the longest match on the card, but well worth every minute.

Baron Corbin pins Kurt Angle

Grade – B

Summary – While many of us, including myself didn’t agree with the opponent picked for Angle, I have to take my hat off to Corbin, he did a great job. He played up the heel role to a tee. Everything down to mocking the opponent everyone wanted (Cena).

For his part, Angle looked old and done, but still had the magic at times. This was a tough one for me as Angle was one of my all-time favorites. I hate to say goodbye, but it is time. One could only wonder how many titles Angle could have won if not for the neck surgeries and if he stayed with WWE the entire time. I’d venture to say he would have topped Flairs record. One will never know.

Fin Balor pins Bobby Lashley to win the IC title.

Grade C

Summary – A match way to short to utilize Balor’s talent properly. It is a real shame too, the kid deserves better. It should have been him vs Rollins for the Universal Championship.

The only good thing about this match being so short was that it was already past midnight, and it was getting harder and harder to keep the energy level up. A long drawn out match, may have put people to sleep.
