Grading Every NXT World Champion In History

Finn Balor
Reign – July 2015 – April 2016
Grade – B

Reason – Perhaps the most popular wrestler in NXT History, and the most popular superstar on the WWE main roster before leaving to head back to NXT. If size is the reason McMahon and WWE never truly gave him the push he deserved on the main roster, then they are truly foolish. I cannot imagine a bigger pop than the The Demon King defeating Brock Lesnar to close out a WrestleMania.

Samoa Joe
Reigns – April 2016 – Aug 2016 and Nov 2016 – Dec 2016
Grade – D

Reason – The WWE seemed ok pushing a former TNA guy in NXT, but once he got to the main roster it became a different story. Between injuries and suspension, his WWE main roster career has never reached any feats worthy of remembering other than a Main Event loss to Brock Lesnar.

Shinsuke Nakamura
Reigns – Aug 2016 – Nov 2016 & Dec 2016 – Jan 2017
Grade – F

Reason – I have never seen a guy come in with such hype behind him and fall this flat. Despite the Royal Rumble win, he has been an absolute bust.

Bobby Roode
Reign – Jan 2017 – Aug 2017
Grade – D

Reason – This is a guy good enough, and seasoned enough that he never needed NXT to begin with. He should have come straight from TNA onto the main roster of WWE with a huge push. He is too damn good to have been bungled with this badly.
