The NXT vs AEW Debate Is Answered

NXT vs AEW, who is better?  The hottest debate pro wrestling has had in a very long time.  I personally feel they are the two best wrestling shows you will find with Impact a close third.

If only RAW and Smackdown could figure out what both NXT and AEW are doing so well, and take a page out of that playbook.  It speaks volumes to how good HHH is at running the NXT brand, and Cody is with controlling the storylines and creative freedom of AEW.

As much as I think the products are as close to dead even as it gets, it is always a fun time to break them down category by category, so let’s have some fun!

Announce Team

Winner – AEW

I love Beth Phoenix and she has a true knowledge of the sport but they make her sound more like a cheer leader at times, and she is better than that.  However, Mauro Ranallo is just too much for me.

His over the top approach isn’t just obnoxious anymore, it is un needed.  With no crowd it really sticks out.  It may work for MMA, it doesn’t work in this environment.

With all due respect to the legendary and fantastic Gordon Solie, I believe JR Jim Ross is the greatest play by play wrestling announcer of all time. Fans have given him a hard time for his AEW work and I don’t understand why.

He has not lost a step and is a much-needed breath of fresh air as he is allowed to how his true personality.  He is a historian of the game and in the perfect spot to make AEW legitimate.

Tony Schiavone fits with Ross like fingers in a custom-made glove. Tony has shown no ring rust and his back and forth with Ross is perfect.  They come across as true friends and make it enjoyable for the listeners at home.

Jericho on the COVID 19 broadcasts were a hidden treasure as well!
