WWE WrestleMania 36 Night One Report Card

The Ladder match goes solo and see’s Miz & Morrison retain

What a terrific work ethic shown by Kofi Kingston, John Morrison and Jimmy Uso tonight. They took a lemon of a situation and made lemonade with it.

A tremendous match that saw all three men give it their all and perform at the highest of levels. The ending with Morrison having the belts land on him was perfectly done too. Very creative! Grade = A

Kevin Owens gets his WrestleMania moment in a win over Seth Rollins.

This feud was awful. The first ten minutes of the match were awful and then it got really good! It was as if they flipped a switch and stole the show in one moment’s notice.

Halfway through the match when Rollins got DQ’d after smashing Owens with a bell, I almost threw my remote in disgust. It was a typical ending to a bad feud that gave us nothing.

But then, they restarted the match and it got good, really good. Once the match restarted, they both turned it up a notch and the brutal hits and trashing talking were taken up a notch. Owens returned the favor and smashed a bell off the skull of Rollins.

The action wasn’t done yet however as Owens would then disappear from the camera only to re-appear from the top of the set and dive off of it on top of Rollins. One pop up powerbomb later, and it was over. A great match that was easily the best of the night. Grade = A+

So how did those predictions turn out?

  1. There was nothing awful about Braun Strowman being selected to replace Reigns. The match on the other hand……
