Since the Cleveland Browns returned to the NFL in the Fall of 1999, it has been slim pickings for quality quarterback play. They have had over 20 starters at the pivotal position in 20 seasons.
A ratio that spells certain doom. There have been a “few” good seasons along the way that gave Browns fans hope. It may have been false hope, but it was at least a nice couple of weeks.
Five different times players have given us hope that they would be “The Man” behind center for the foreseeable future. Four of those times have proven to be false hope. Perhaps the fifth and final time with Baker Mayfield will prove to be the missing link.
Here are the five best players to line up behind center in an Orange and Brown uniform since the team returned to the league in 1999.
Keep in mind, they are only rated from their time as a Brown, that is why players such as Jeff Garcia, Josh McCown and RG3 didn’t make the list. This is solely based on their time as a Brown.
LETS GET TO IT!
Hopefully with the new coach and additions this young qb can be THE qb of our future. Give him the right old and dl and off we go.
