Westlake Topps North Ridgeville High School 7-5 On The Diamond

Westlake Varsity Demons snatched the lead late in the game in a 7-5 victory over North Ridgeville Rangers Varsity on Saturday.  The game was tied at five with Westlake Varsity Demons batting in the top of the eighth when an error scored two runs for Westlake Varsity Demons.

 

 

 

Westlake Varsity Demons fired up the offense in the second inning.  Greyson Elyederani doubled on a 0-1 count, scoring two runs.

 

 

 

North Ridgeville Rangers Varsity knotted the game up at five in the bottom of the seventh inning.  Jake Boynar drove in two when Boynar doubled.

 

 

 

Aidan Keir was the winning pitcher for Westlake Varsity Demons. The bulldog lasted one and one-third innings, allowing zero hits and zero runs while striking out one and walking zero.  Adam Zevnik and Derek Occhipini entered the game out of the bullpen and helped to close out the game in relief.

 

 

 

Zach Casey took the loss for North Ridgeville Rangers Varsity. The righty allowed two hits and two runs over two innings, striking out one and walking one.

 

 

 

Adam Bright started the game for North Ridgeville Rangers Varsity. Bright allowed four hits and three runs over four innings, striking out nine Hugh Sullivan started the game for Westlake Varsity Demons. The ace allowed three hits and one run over five innings, striking out four

 

 

 

Westlake Varsity Demons totaled eight hits.  Ivan Tucholski and Chris Protos all had multiple hits for Westlake Varsity Demons.  Tucholski went 4-for-5 at the plate to lead Westlake Varsity Demons in hits.  Westlake Varsity Demons didn’t commit a single error in the field. Tucholski had the most chances in the field with eight.

 

 

 

Ryan Romito led North Ridgeville Rangers Varsity with two hits in five at bats.
