My Jump Pick
I was wrong last week about Ole Miss making me 2/3 on my picks. I will get into Ole Miss here in a second but let’s look forward to a better pick. Let’s pick one of the best defenses in the country backed by good quarterback play on the other side of the ball to get a gritty win against Notre Dame. The Duke Bluedevils are my jump pick. I think Duke can cover this spread at home in a close one with a little side bet of the UNDER. I just think Notre Dame is still thinking about that Ohio State loss while Duke is looking to make a splash. If Duke wins they could move to 10 at the highest with good wins against Clemson and hopefully over Notre Dame.
My Top 25 Reaction
Kicking out Colorada for a poor performance against Oregon is humbling, to say the least. The team was held for under 200 total yards and only put up 6 points.
Ohio State to 4 makes so much sense over a close win at Notre Dame. The Buckeyes earned 4.
On the other hand, USC dropped 3 but they should’ve dropped 4. Oregon got a dominating win against a hot Colorado team while USC has no quality wins in my eyes.
I still don’t understand why Tenessee is over Florida after losing to them.
But I like the Washington State jump of 5 spots though. They got a nice win against Wisconsin who was ranked at the time and just beat a ranked Oregon State team in a close game. You could even argue they should be over Oklahoma but not North Carolina.
And Kansas in the top 25 over Kansas State is questioning but after a Kansas loss this Saturday they will be out for Kansas State.
Alabama Bounces back
Ole Miss was leading at the half 7-6 but had a horrible 2nd half against Alabama. Jaxson Dart didn’t perform the way he should’ve throwing for 244 yards and 1 interception. Alabama dominated the ground game and time of possession to get past Ole Miss who dropped to 20 with the loss of 24-10. Ole Miss will look to bounce back against 13 LSU next week to stay in the top 25.
Buckeyes Pull Through
Ohio State moves to 4 after a 17-14 win against the Fighting Irish. The Buckeyes drove down the field to score at the final second to push past Notre Dame. The game was close the whole way through but Notre Dame lined up with only 10 men back-to-back plays on the goal line in the final seconds of the game. A critical error that might have gotten them a stop to win the game. Notre Dame looks to bounce back against Duke to save their spot in the top 25. You can find them on college game day again.
Seminoles Survive Again
Jordan Travis led the Seminoles to victory throwing for 289 yards and 2 TDs in the overtime win against Clemson 31-24. Florida State only had 22 rushing yards and lost the time of possession battle yet somehow came out on top. Clemson continues to struggle while Florida State stays in the top 5 after another close win. When will Clemson turn it around?
Colorado Humbled
A 35-0 halftime said it all. Oregon booted Deion Sanders out of the top 25 while this offense continues to dominate this season. The offense just put up 522 total yards and dominated in every key area. Colorado was held to under 200 total yards on the day which was humbling for a team that made this game personal for Oregon. Stepping onto the field and going straight for the logo on the 50 just to step on it and dance is disrespectful. Deion will have a chance for redemption against Caleb Williams and a shaky USC defense next Saturday.
