USA Football Middle Schoolers Take Center Stage in Canton

We stayed with the U14 age group as Team Honor and Team Freedom took to the turf in the middle game.

Team Freedom took the lead in the first three minutes and never looked back. After an interception by Brendan Coakley (Weymouth, Massachutsetts), Sam Deligio (Algonquin, Illinois) found Arenn Banks (Denver, Colorado) on a 38 yard TD pass. Parker Friedman added a 36 yard field goal four minutes later as Freedom led 10-0 after one quarter.

Three and a half minutes into the second quarter, Aric Johnson (Aurora, Illinois) picked up his own team’s fumble and converted it into a six yard TD run as Freedom made it 17-0 before halftime.

Austin Mack (Loomis, California) completed a 41 yard TD pass to Braylon Knauth (Orlando, Florida) halfway through the third quarter for a 24-0 Freedom advantage.

The scoring was not done in the fourth quarter for Team Freedom. Jeremiah McClellan (Saint Charles, Missouri) opened the final frame with an one yard TD run.

On the next play, Honor got on the board with a 75 yard TD run by Maddox Duncan (St. Charles, Missouri). Honor made it 31-7 but Freedom added a 22 yard field goal with 2:34 left, winning 34-7.

The MVP for Team Freedom was Banks as he made four catches for 123 yards, including the game’s first touchdown. Jaceb Dickerson made three tackles, including 2.5 tackles for loss for 11 yards as the MVP for Team Honor.
