UFC 249 Main Card Predictions

Francis Ngannou vs Jairzinho Rozenstruik

Summary – Francis Nganou is an enigma if there ever was one.  This guy either looks like an unstoppable monster who knocks you out with the slightest jab, or the complete opposite.  He has brutal, and I mean brutal knockouts in 10 of 14 career wins with the other 4 coming by submission.  The man finishes fights and has Mike Tyson like power.

In his three loses however, he has looked completely clueless and almost as if he didn’t want to be in there at times. He fought valiantly against Stipe Miocic, but once he realized he wasn’t going to knock out the champ, he was off the rest of the fight.  In his loss against Derrick Lewis, he looked like he didn’t want to be there and did absolutely nothing for three rounds.

A win over Rozenstruik should line him up with the winner of Miocic vs Cormier III but it won’t be easy as his opponent is no joke.  Rozenstruik is 10-0 in his MMA career and looks every bit as deadly as Ngannou with 9 Knockouts.  While most of those are against guys you have never heard of, in promotions that don’t even exist anymore, you can’t take away from his freaky power.

This has never been clearer that in his last four wins under the UFC banner.  He knocked out Junior Albini, Allen Crowder, Andrei Arvlovski and Alistair Overeem. However, Arvlovski is over the hill by a decade, and Crowder and Albini are less than top notch caliber.  His fight against Overeem many feel he was losing before a shocking KO with 4 seconds to go in a five round fight.

Prediction – Francis Ngannou by first round KO
