This UFC update is brought to you by Chris Walker of Top Tier Performance.  You can out more about them here. https://www.facebook.com/TopTierPerform/?eid=ARCeIZXF219v74jVuA1ucY3mypUc2STO2Uxk_CoIhEh1pERL33oK2tcQrEk1tWU9aTkDw6tz42wJvl-B&timeline_context_item_type=intro_card_work&timeline_context_item_source=100001259948103&fref=tag

UFC is finally back and it couldn’t have come sooner!  UFC 249 will take place this weekend in sunny Florida in front of essential personnel only. The card is loaded from top to bottom as everyone has had a nice chunk of time to rest, and they are eager to fight.

Have fight camps been closed?  Will making weight be an issue?  So much is still to be determined and we cannot wait to see it unfold.  With this card being as loaded as it is, I thought it would be best to submit two articles this week.  The first breaking down the “undercard” came out earlier this week and can be found on page 3

Let’s get to the main card now!

Fight Greg Hardy vs Yorgan de Castro

Summary – The UFC needs to find out if Greg Hardy is legit or a novelty act. His only legitimate competition thus far was Alexander Volkov who defeated him.  Every other fight has been against a series of tomato cans.  This one will be more than a tomato can however.

Many fight fans don’t know about de Castro just yet, but if he pulls off this win you will.  He is 6-0 with two wins in the UFC.  At 33, he got a late start into MMA but that doesn’t mean he can’t fight.  He should add a quick flash before Hardy puts him out.

Prediction – Greg Hardy by first round KO.

Fight Jeremy Stephens vs Calvin Kattar

Summary – Kattar is 20-4 in an impressive career and fresh off his first UFC Main Event.  Despite 20 wins, he is still looking for that first signature win to really put him on the map.  A win over Stephens would do that.

Jeremy Stephens is a UFC Fan Favorite and grizzled veteran of 46 fights with more than 75% percent of them coming in the UFC after a 2007 flashy arrival.  Stephens is known for flashy knockouts and exciting fights.  However, despite the impressive resume, he hasn’t won since 2018 and is winless in his last 4 fights.  Is he out of gas after a great mid card career?  Time will tell but he will forever be known as the guy who hit Rafeal dos Anjos so hard he made his eyes roll back in his head.

Prediction – Kattar by decision
