Bay Village, OH – In another intense lacrosse battle, the Strongsville Mustangs fought back from a multi-goal deficit to defeat the Bay Rockets 11-10 in overtime on March 30th, 2026.

Bay controlled the early part of the game, jumping out to a 2-0 lead in the first quarter behind a sharp offensive start. The Rockets continued to control the pace in the second, holding onto a 3-2 advantage heading into halftime.

Coming out of the break, Bay extended its lead and appeared to be in firm control. With a 7-4 advantage in the third quarter, the Rockets had momentum and were on track to close things out. But Strongsville had other plans.

The Mustangs came alive in the 4th quarter, putting together an explosive offensive stretch, while also playing outstanding defense. Strongsville rallied all the way back to tie the game at 10-10, dramatically forcing overtime.

The shift in momentum was fueled by Strongsville’s increased urgency on both ends of the field. The Mustangs began to win more possessions, apply consistent pressure, and take advantage of scoring opportunities that had been limited earlier in the game. Their energy noticeably changed the pace, with Bay struggling to play late-game defense in the 4th.

In overtime, Strongsville completed the comeback with a game-winning goal, sealing an 11-10 victory.

Strongsville saw contributions from multiple players throughout the night. #12 Sophie Adanistsch played a key role, scoring five total goals, including the game-winner in overtime. She is tonight’s player of the game because of her strong performance. #13 Maddie Emery added an early goal to help keep the Mustangs within striking distance, while #77 Lilly Drenski added 3 total goals during the victory. #28 Rayaan Muhammad and #1 Addie Owen-Kren both had a goal too.

Bay also had some strong performances. #20 Layla Meaux led the offensive effort with an impressive six-goal performance. She was the main reason the Rockets stayed in control for most of the night. #17 Jill Tennant also made a strong impact, while #34 Avery Schriner, #29 Hadley Clark, and #30 Nolie Piktel each contributed key goals.

Despite Bay’s strong start and consistent scoring, Strongsville’s durability and late-game execution proved to be the difference. The Mustangs ability to respond under pressure and capitalize in key moments ultimately lifted them to the overtime victory.
