Pro Wrestling News & Notes

Nic Nemeth is now a two time TNA World Champion as the former champion appears to be headed for WWE by the end of the Summer.  KC Navarro appears to be the first one up to challenge Nemeth as TNA is seemingly going for athleticism over size with their world title picture.

Also on the card at Slammiversary this past weekend it was announced Konaan and The Amazing Red will be joining the already announced ODB in the TNA Hall of Fame this year at Bound for Glory.  It was a solid card all the way around for TNA as other big notes to come from it where the re-mergence of Uhaa Nation, the former Apollo Crews of WWE.  Finally, perhaps the biggest note to come out of the show was the announcement that for the first time in the 24 year history of the company they will have a single Women’s Championship as the brand new TNA Knockouts Television Championship has been created.  A 16 woman tournament will begin this week on Impact.

Meanwhile in AEW, they also had a PPV this past weekend with yet another 6 plus hours show.  For good or bad, they are not worried about crowd exhaustion.  MJF now has 3 challengers to his title with Kenny Omega, Will Ospreay and Mark Briscoe all holding rightful claim for a AEW World Title Match.

Finally, in WWE, the plan appears to be a returning CM Punk in Chicago at RAW next week to challenge the winner of Sami Zayn vs Cody Rhodes on Night One of Summerslam.  The Sunday night main event being the already announced Roman Reigns vs Seth Rollins as Reigns will get another chance to earn is first win over his longtime foe and former friend.

Anyone clamoring for Jon Moxley to show up as Dean Ambrose an get involved, you may not want to hold your breath on that pipe dream as it is well known he has several years left on his AEW contract and has zero plans to ever return to WWE.

Some quick hitters, look for a LA Knight & Solo Sikoa vs The Uso’s Match to take place at the biggest party of the Summer as well.  The big question right now is if Rhea Ripley returns from injury or is forced to give up her title once again.  Also, will this be Brock Lesnar’s official retirement match in Minnesota which has been rumored for more then a year.

Stay tuned…
