Ohio State vs Nebraska Preview: Summer Friends Turn to Fall Foes

Nebraska is the first test standing in the way of the Buckeyes. Scott Frost is going into his third season as head coach of the Cornhuskers and will be looking to turn around a disappointing 5-7 season last year.

Husker nation was shocked by their lackluster record last season because on paper, they had some talent. That talent includes quarterback Adrian Martinez.

Martinez struggled staying healthy last year and his health will be a large dictating factor in their success during this shortened season. Martinez is a good passer but also can be dangerous when scrambling.

Also returning to the offense are 10 other players with five or more starts last season.

As for the defense, they have struggled generating pressure on opposing team’s quarterbacks. They will be looking to turn that around with a young defense with a lack of depth, especially on the d-line and in the linebacker group.

Their strength comes in the secondary with several returning starters in Marquel Dismuke, Dicaprio Bootle and Cam Taylor-Britt.
