The North Olmsted Eagles defended the Middle School Nest tonight with a dominant 41-6 victory over the visiting Parma Redmen.  They played great defense and spread the ball well as 8 different players put up points in the win.  This is their 7thstraight win, 9th on the season and have the single season North Olmsted win total record in their sights.

The Eagles were led by the impressive effort from Kayla Hartman who finished with 16 points as she scored early and often.  Hartman, put up points in every quarter, including hitting a three ball, a foul shot, and plenty of jumpers.  She is extremely well rounded and has a bright future.  Also impressing for the Eagles was Amaya Capps with 6 and Adriana Kozey with 8.

These two took a beating and just kept on ticking as the Parma play became a little, “rough” once they got down big.  Kozey was fouled so hard on one play, it should have been a technical and an ejection on Parma, but it wasn’t.  Amaya Capps is such a gamer and leader, she played with plenty of heart tonight and bounced off Parma Redman to and from the hoop.  Capps has a very bright future with the program.

Also scoring for the Eagles was Emilee Meyer with 4, while Abdul-haqq, Delaney Steimle and Josie Stark had 2 each.  Finishing the scoring was Nadia Slimi with a point as well. Brooklyn Chudowsky was a firecracker out there too despite not scoring.  Sometimes effort plays can make a difference and not show up on the stat sheet, Brooklyn had plenty of those tonight.

A Hartman bank shot three ball brought the Eagle lead to 5-0 just moments into the game.  The Eagle press defense off of made buckets early on led to plenty of chances and helped them build a nice lead, up 14-0 after one.  At one point, Hartman missed the back end of a foul shot set, only to get her own rebound and go right back up for two!  This along with 6 big points from Kozey who cut through the middle like a hot knife though butter, was just too much for Parma to handle.

Hartman stayed red hot in the second quarter as the Eagles kept the shutout going and built the lead up to 18 – 0 with a minute left in the half.  It was then that Parma got their first bucket of the game from Khloe Novotny to make it a bit closer.  The Eagles took a 20-2 lead into the break.

The Eagles started the second half on a 9-0 run to extend their lead to 29-2 in just the first three minutes of the half.  Big shots continued to pour in from Hartman and Capps.  The 9-0 run was finally stopped by a Parma bucket from Siany Joyner.  The Eagles held a 31-4 lead after 3.

5 different Eagles scored in the fourth quarter alone as they put the finishing touched on the 41-6 win.  The lone Parma bucket in the quarter came from Devan.
