Medina, OH- The Medina Highland Hornets toppled the North Olmsted Eagles during Friday night’s Region 6 Division 2 Regional quarterfinal game.
The Hornets methodically moved the ball down the field, and RB Lukas Stiles topped off the run with a 16-yard touchdown. The Eagles were stymied on their first drive and were not able to secure a first down and had to punt the ball back to the Hornets. Stiles ran the ball in from 27-yards out to make the score 14-0 Hornets at the end of the first quarter.
Hornets RB Noah Robinson ran the ball to pay dirt early in the second quarter to up the score 21-0, and the Eagles retaliated on a dart from QB Xavier Balson to WR Collin Willard. The 21-yard touchdown pass put points on the board for North Olmsted.
The score read 21-7 at the half.
Stiles tallied two touchdowns in the third quarter and upped the Hornet’s lead 35-7. QB Andrew Lurtz connected with WR Matt Ciryak for a 38-yard touchdown in the fourth to widen the gap.
Keeping the momentum, RB Noah Robinson rushed 3-yards to cap the score 49-7.
The player of the game is the Hornets RB Lukas Stiles with 163 yards on 19 carries with 4 touchdowns.
North Olmsted ended their season with a record of 8-4. Medina Highland moved to 12-0 and will advance to the Regional semi-final.
