by With a rough start to the first quarter, and a few fumbles and incomplete passes, Highland started the game with a gain of two points following a penalty from Medina. Medina displayed their strength by performing strong defense from Mikey Howard and Brayden Pidgeon. The two ran marvelous defense on of both the sidelines and the middle of the field, tackling 40 yards in the first quarter.
Medina’s bright yellow uniforms were seen on both the sidelines, keeping gaps closed for Highland’s bright white uniforms from running to the end zone. Although they put up a strong fight, Medina’s defense was rejected from Highland’s Colton Winston as he completed two touchdowns in the first quarter.
Starting the second quarter at the 20-yard line, Highland kept up the pace with completing another touchdown in the first 32 seconds of the quarter by Evan Foust. Consistently, after Highland’s kickoff’s, the ball would end in the end zone, gifting the ball to Medina. After Medina punted the ball to the 16-yard line, it quickly made its way back to the other side of the field. Highland made another touchdown, from two downs on the 4-yard line.
Medina stole the ball with five minutes left in the quarter by Cooper Sokolowski who completed passes, totaling 40 yards and succeeding closer to the end zone for Medina.
The first half of the game concluded with the Highland Hornets in the lead with 30 and the Medina Battling Bees at 0.
Following the gorgeous halftime show from the bands of Medina and Highland after they played glorious pop and musical pieces, the athletic teams continued the game.
Darian Smith from Medina presented quick and reflexive defensive help created a beautiful tackle, from a clean pass after Highland’s Ben Radigan who completed a pass from 30 yards, only 8 yards of the end zone.
Stagnant in the third quarter, Highland made it difficult for Medina to score with major interceptions and numerous tackles ranging from 10 to 20 yards, Highland was ready to take home the win by the end of the quarter.
Starting the fourth and final quarter, Highland was ready to take another touchdown completion as they fulfilled another touchdown by Colton Winston who ran 30 yards to the end zone.
The game was filled with strategic and quick plays from both Highland and Medina, they played a great game with force and strength together.
Highland took home the win, with a final score of 47 for the Highland Hornets and 0 for the Medina Bees.
