Warrior Award
Olivia DiFranco
For 3 plus years we all got to witness one of the best talents, if not the best Midview Middie to ever lace them up for the Blue and Silver. Olivia DiFranco is the kind of player I would pay to watch. She is that good, that entertaining and had “it” from day one as a freshman. You could see it coming a mile away, she would rise to be one of the best, and she did just that!
Right hand, left hand, it didn’t matter. It could be a dribble and drive, or just sit back and let it fly, she was going to nail it. She has one of the nicest jump shots I’ve ever seen. Sadly, after her senior year got off to a red-hot start, tragedy struck and she went down to season ending injury at home against Olmsted Falls in late December.
There is a quote often said in sports, and in life, “Don’t be sad it’s over, just be happy it happened”. It may be cliché, but that is how we feel when it comes to Liv. We were spoiled for three plus years to get to watch her play, and while it was the ending no one wanted to see, she will still tear it up in college.
This is not the ending, far from it, but rather, the beginning as there is not a doubt in our minds she will head to the NCAA next year and light it up!
Congrats Liv, you are a WARRIOR!
