These awards are based only on the Kee On Sports coverage area. This doesn’t mean that there isn’t an incredible amount of talented players who could have easily won awards and be named to first and second teams. Take Journey Hildebrand of Brunswick for example, she is one of the most talented players in the state, so is Saniyah Hall of Laurel. However, we didn’t cover either team this year and that is the ONLY reason they are not mentioned. We wanted to stick to the teams we covered, that will be listed below. Clearly, Saniyah and Journey are amazing talents.
The hope is that next year we have a little better luck with sponsorships earlier in the year, that way we can expand our coverage area. That is why I push so hard for sponsorship, the more sponsors mean more student athletes get covered. Every single sponsorship penny goes towards stringers “free lancers” to be paid to cover more teams and players.
