Elyria Catholic breezes by Bryan High School

The Elyria Catholic Panthers took an easy win 43-0 over the Bryan Golden Bears in the first round of the playoffs.

The Panthers were efficient in the first quarter and took no time to score. Senior quarterback Brady Cook connected with Tony Grasso for an 18-yard touchdown, giving the home team the 7-0 lead. The Panthers looked good on defense and prevented the Golden Bears from catching any rhythm.

Panther’s Levi Ellis ran 16-yards on three plays to dock more points to up the lead 20-0, and Colin Ginley added an additional six less than five plays later.

Ellis later ran 33-yards on 5 plays to find the end zone and became the all-time leading rusher for the school.

The score read 37-0 at the end of the first half after a Panthers field goal, and one final touchdown in the third quarter clinched the win 43-0.

The Player of the Game is Levi Ellis with 104-yards and a touchdown.
