A full day of action was capped off with a tightly contested game between Ball St. and Bowling Green to close out the day. Both teams played hard and brought the heat, but in the end it was the BGSU pulling way late in the second half to close out all doubt with a 99-86 victory.
The Falcons will now go on to play the suddenly red hot Northern Illinois squad who stunned the number 2 seeded Toledo Rockets 80-76 earlier in the night.
BGSU only led by 3 at the half, 54-51 but pulled away in convincing fashion in the second half. The Falcons were led by Demajeo Wiggins with 22 points and 11 monster rebounds.
Wiggins had plenty of help along the way as Dylan Frye chipped in with 20 big points in 29 impactful minutes. Lighting it up from beyond the arc was Caleb Fields, Dylan Frye and Daeqwon Plowden had 2 each.
The biggest stats however came on the hustle points, as the Falcons cashed in on 22 points off of 15 Ball. St turnovers. The sloppy play would prove to be the difference.
