Defensemen Jared Verse arrived in Northeast Ohio earlier this week after the trade deal between the Cleveland Browns and the Los Angeles Rams became finalized.
Verse himself has spoken about being upset initially with the trade but his feelings about it have evolved by the day and as he said at the press event of the trade, ”It caught me by surprise.”
“I loved L.A. I loved the coaches, the organization, my teammates … I loved the whole vibe of L.A., it was upsetting. I was upset for a good little bit of time. But when you’re an athlete, you understand the nature of business. I’m happy to be a part of the Browns. I’m happy they believed in me and they were able to make that trade and bring me here. I truly do believe in everybody in the locker room,” said Jared Verse to Fox 8 news.
Verse stated that his first day at camp was a lively one, but the Cleveland Browns made sure he felt at home despite the reservations. He’s ready to become a part of a team and a community that makes him feel at home.
Since Verse is from Dayton, he’s calling this a homecoming as the 2024 Rookie of the Year is added to the Browns defensive roster.
