PER Akron City FC Press Release team
Akron, Ohio – February 25, 2026
A major announcement inbound as Akron City FC has confirmed InfoCision Stadium-Summa Health Field, on the campus of the University of Akron, as its venue for home games for the upcoming 2026 USL2 season.
Officially opened in 2009, InfoCision Stadium has been the home of the University of Akron football and lacrosse programs as well as holding facilities for a handful of other athletic programs. Now, it becomes the home to Akron City FC ahead of another exciting summer of soccer.
After four successful seasons at Green Street Stadium and St. Vincent-St. Mary High School, the club is moving into the heart of the city. The transition comes as turf replacement and facility improvements are underway at its former home, creating an opportunity for Akron City FC to take the next step in its growth. The move positions the club in one of the city’s premier sports venues, expanding opportunities to enhance the matchday experience and deepen its connection with fans.
The facility provides state of the art locker rooms, meeting areas, training rooms, concessions, and holds a capacity for up to 30,000 fans with dynamic sound, ribbon boards, and a video scoreboard.
“Playing at InfoCision Stadium in 2026 allows Akron City FC to continue building a matchday environment that matches the energy of our supporters and the momentum around the club,” said owner Nick Turchan. “Being in a centrally located, top-tier venue gives us the flexibility to grow our fan experience, host larger crowds, and create an atmosphere that feels special for our players, fans, and business partners alike. We’re excited to work with the University of Akron and make InfoCision Stadium our home.”
“The University of Akron and the Department of Athletics is happy to be able to host Akron City FC matches this summer at InfoCision Stadium-Summa Health Field,” said Allan Hoon, Associate Athletics Director, Operations and Events. “We welcome the opportunity to have the Akron community and this team on campus and in our venues.”
“St. Vincent-St. Mary will be replacing its turf this summer, and we’re excited for them as they invest in their facilities,” said Turchan. “They have been a tremendous partner to Akron City FC since day one, and we’re grateful for the role they have played in our growth.”
With divisional alignments in place, this new stage will see ACFC host opponents from the likes of Buffalo, Cleveland, Erie, Lorain County and Pittsburgh.
Season tickets are available for purchase via our website akroncityfc.com, all season ticket holders receive a free 2026 customized replica jersey. ACFC’s season and home opener is set for May 16th at 7pm against longtime divisional rival FC Buffalo.
