BGSU survived a wild second half comeback to defeat Northern Illinois 71-67 and advance to the MAC Conference Championship game tomorrow night against top seeded Buffalo.
The Falcons held a commanding 46-23 halftime lead before the Huskies battled back to make it 60-58 with only 3 minutes left to play in the game.
The 3 seeded Falcons will have their hands full with the Bulls. Buffalo did prove they are not invincible as they looked vulnerable numerous times in their game earlier tonight against Western Michigan. The hung on late to top the Chippewas 86-82.
BGSU got big performances from Dylan Frye who drained four from long range as part of his team high 25 points. He also went 7 of 8 from the charity stripe. Eugene German of NIU made it close late as he racked up 31 big points for the Panthers.
Tomorrow night’s title tilt will tip off from the “Q” at 7:30. Plenty of tickets are still available.
