North Olmsted Softball Takes Down Gilmour Academy 9-5

North Olmsted snagged a late lead and defeated Gilmour Academy 9-5 on Friday. North Olmsted / Eagles trailed 5-4 in the bottom of the fifth inning when Sydney Sukenik homered on a 1-1 count, scoring four runs.

North Olmsted / Eagles opened up scoring in the first inning, when.

Jenna Christner pitched North Olmsted / Eagles to victory. The righty allowed nine hits and five runs over seven innings, striking out three.

Clare Peterson took the loss for Gilmour Academy. The pitcher allowed six hits and four runs over four innings, striking out five.

North Olmsted / Eagles socked one home run on the day. Sukenik put one out in the fifth inning.

North Olmsted / Eagles saw the ball well today, racking up ten hits in the game. Izzy D’Alessandro and Sara Gilley each racked up multiple hits for North Olmsted / Eagles. D’Alessandro went 3-for-3 at the plate to lead North Olmsted / Eagles in hits.

Peterson led Gilmour Academy with two hits in four at bats. Gilmour Academy was sure-handed in the field and didn’t commit a single error. Laney Klika had the most chances in the field with nine.
