Recent Alumni Thriving In College Award
As a High School beat writer, nothing makes me prouder then turning on the tv on a Saturday afternoon and watching the “kids” I covered in high school, perform well in college. I’m not alone in that either as I know a few other sports writers feel the same way.
With that being the case, I picked two of whom I have covered since I started to spotlight this time. I could have picked over a dozen, so it was tough to narrow down to just two this time. Perhaps we can make this a feature moving forward?
2019 Berea-Midpark graduate Bryce Agnew
As of last weekend the Titan graduate, had over 12,000 total yards at Marietta this season. He is the OAC leader in rushing, and in a recent trip back to George Finnie Stadium to play against BW, he tore it up with two touchdowns including one for over 70 yards.
2017 Midview Graduate Dustin Crum
The former Middie QB had one of the greatest careers in SWC history while playing for Midview. He has continued that success while at Kent. St. The Golden Flash signal caller has met with success in his career and is continuing that trend playing in the MAC.
This season alone, he has 11 touchdowns with 2092 yards. In his career as a Golden Flash, he has tossed 46 touchdowns next to only 8 interceptions. He has also thrown for 4,211 yards. He has at the Golden Flashes at 5-4 to start the season. When you factor in that 2 of those losses came against highly ranked Iowa and Texas A&M, that’s pretty impressive!
I’d challenge this with Isaiah Johnson from Elyria
