Rivalry Games of the Year
Avon Lake at Avon Week 4
Olmsted Falls at Berea-Midpark Week 10
Each year in and year out, there are two games you can mark on your calendar as CANNOT MISS!
Those two games are the Battle for the Silver Rail between Avon and Avon Lake, as well as the Battle for the Bagley Cup between Berea-Midpark and Olmsted Falls. Each game, no matter the records or anything else going on, you can count on them being classics! This year was no exception.
The Silver Rail Rivalry took place Week Four as backup Quarterback Jake DePaul led the Shoremen to a big win on the road, 30-24 over Avon. It was a wild game that saw Avon jump out to the early lead before Avon Lake went a run to take a 30-10 lead into halftime. This year, the Eagle comeback came up just a bit short as they lost to their rivals in an instant classic.
As for the Bagley Cup, that one took place Week 10 and had no shortage of fireworks and points along with it. There were a combined 16 touchdowns for 112 points in a wild 63-49 Olmsted Falls victory. Rocco Conti would amount for 7 touchdowns and 217 rushing yards during an incredible display of running the ball.
I’d challenge this with Isaiah Johnson from Elyria
