CLEVELAND, Ohio– The eighteenth-ranked Buffalo Bulls took the floor for their quarterfinal matchup against the Akron Zips on Wednesday afternoon. Buffalo came in as the top seed of the MAC Men’s Basketball Tournament with just two conference losses (16-2). Meanwhile, Akron sat at 8-10 in conference play heading into the meeting.
Buffalo took full control early in the contest, getting out to a 28-8 lead with just seven minutes left in the first half. Five steals were accumulated thanks to the tough-nosed defense of the Bulls, leading to a lot of up-and-run situations for them.
The Bulls’ Jeremy Harris had twelve points at halftime, leading all scorers. Harris finished with a game-high 23 points along with eight rebounds and three blocks.
Akron’s Loren Christian Jackson compiled a team-high 16 points on 4-for-14 shooting.
Overall, the Bulls ran away with this one due to their tenacious defense and five double-digit scorers. Buffalo will move on to the quarterfinal after the 82-46 victory over the Zips.
