Your Arms Are My Cacoon Concert Review

Story by Isiah McCully

On April 18th Your Arms Are My Cacoon played with Everyone Asked About You at the Rumba Cafe in Columbus Ohio. The whole venue only had a maximum capacity of 150 people, so the whole show was extremely intimate for both bands. Whether it was yaamc doing their own soundcheck before the show, or both bands being at their merch booth before and after the show, everything just felt close knit and tight. Another thing that was tight, was how both bands played.

I had been excited to see Your Arms Are My Cacoon especially, and was completely blown away just from the first few notes of ‘Snowy!’ I have heard several horror stories about how the crowds for yaamc could act but was extremely pleasantly suprised with how laidback and kind the crowd was. The raw energy they provided felt like it sent a spark through the whole room. The other band on the bill, Everyone Asked About You, was also great.

I’m fairly certain that this is the first time that both of these bands have played together, and if I’m right, it definitely shouldn’t be the last. Both bands, although different in sound, flowed together perfectly, and if you know of one of them, you likely know the other. Everyone Asked About You also played a great set and notably ended it with going into the crowd to finish off their closer song ‘Me Vs. You’.

This was a phenomenal concert for both bands, and I really hope they consider playing together more.
