WWE WrestleMania Smackdown Report Card 2026

Opening Segment Promo with Randy Orton

Grade – C

Reason – His promo was a bunch of information we already knew.  The only thing that kept this from being an F is the intrigue of what in the world the document was that Pat MacAfee signed while he waited for Randy in his RAM.  Clearly, he signed something important. But again a far cry from what used to be on a go home show, so much talk with no rebuttal or physical action.

MFT defeats The Wyatt Sicks

Grade – D

Reason – A match that took 4 segments with 3 commercial breaks in it before finally ending when Solo stole the pin from Tama Tonga to further along the heat between the two of them. Hopefully this feud between the factions is finally over it ran its course months ago.

Royce Keys Hype Video

Grade – A

One thing the WWE does well are those hype history of the superstar video’s that make you want to root for someone.  This all but locked Keys winning the Andre Battle Royal later in the night.

Jacob Fatu talks trash on top of a police car while Alexa Bliss and Charlotte assure each other they will remain friends no matter the outcome of their match.

MOVING ON

Damien Priest & R-Truth successfully defend their Tag Titles against Grayson Waller and Kofi Kingston

Grade – B

This was set up perfectly for Priest to turn on R-Truth and cost them the titles.  At some point it will happen with Priest saying he lost focus tagging with Truth, that he is not a comedy act and two years ago he was Main Eventing shows and winning titles at WrestleMania. And now, he is in a joke team with R-Truth, keeping him relevant.  Again, they may have won tonight, but it is only a matter of time.

Rhea Ripley has a battle promo with B-Fab, Jade and Michin

Grade – F

Reason for grade – This is awful, the crowd ruined what was already going to be a bad segment with constant booing.  Cargill cannot cut a promo unless she swears every other word.  Just terrible. Ripley is also doing some of the worst work of her career right now too, this is just a total mess.

Tiffany Stratton pins Jordan Grayce to become the number one contender for the Women’s United States Championship.

Grade – A

Reason – This match was excellent as Stratton proved yet again that Tiffy Time can do it all.  She can go bell to bell with anyone and is so much more then just looks.  The interesting thing here is that Joe Tess mentions on the broadcast about how last year Tiffany was on the main card in a huge match and this year she is not.  Even more ammo for Stratton to come back stronger then ever following this weekend.

Sami Zayn Promo Battle with Trick Williams

Grade – B

Reason for Grade –   Both men spoke the truth, straight from the heart.  I still do not know why fans are booing Zayn and neither does he.  Just the fact that we got a Zayn Helluva kick to the head of a Gingerbread man keeps this grade above a C.

Cody Promo

Grade – A

Undisputed WWE Champion Cody Rhodes came out in the main event segment of tonight’s show to address Randy Orton, but was interrupted by World Heavyweight Champion CM Punk. Cody questioned if Punk is going to low blow him as well. Punk said this is the first time he wore a suit on WWE TV since Teddy Long got married. Punk said he’s proud of Cody and told Rhodes to get the job done tomorrow.
Cody also hyped up Punk and called Punk the new Mr. WrestleMania. Cody said his dad would be proud of Punk. They got emotional and hugged.
Two of the best talkers in the business!

Andre The Giant Battle Royal

Grade –  C

Reason for Grade – Terrible Andre the Giant Battle Royal. No suspense at all and completely buried, ( yet again ) Joe Hendry.  Keyes was only 1 of 2 guys to come out with music and the second Hendy was tossed, you just knew there was only one guy who could win. I don’t know, Keyes needed something after being forgotten about since the Rumble, perhaps this is the kickstart he needs?  Count on squash wins over jobbers the next few weeks from him.
