by WWE Smackdown Halloween Version hosted by Danhausen
The show starts with Cody cutting an in-ring promo
Grade = A
The crowd is behind Cody from minute one and it is clear he is still the top babyface in the company for good reasons. Him apologizing to Randy Orton’s fans and family for what he is about to do to him is just pure greatness. It was short, impactful and simply got the job done!
Chelsea Green defeats Nikki Bella to retain her WWE Women’s World Championship
Grade = B
Chelsea keeping the title further sets up the possibility of Tiffany Stratton cashing in on her. Green’s title reign having legs and reaching it’s third month is a smart idea, it solidifies her as a worthy champion. Theres a strong chance she loses to Liv Morgan at Crown Jewel and that is where Tiffy possibly cashes in.
Sami Zayn cuts a promo about his match at Crown Jewel
Grade = A
Zayn continues to do the best microphone work of his career. He is passionate and entertaining and also tells the truth. The best kind of heel there is, especially when you mix in the fact that he can back it up in the ring.
Paige and Blake Monroe have a backstage clash
Grade = D
Paige is simply awful. I cannot buy a single thing she says at this point.
Rey Fenix retains his AAA World Cruiserweight Championship
Grade = B+
Tremendous match that keeps AAA relevant with WWE fans. Fenix is a stud in the ring!
Jade Cargill vs Tatum Paxley
Grade = A
This was shockingly good as Tatum Paxley got an incredible match out of Cargill, this was perhaps the best match Cargill has ever been a part of. I was blown away with how good it was despite how dead the crowd was.
Danhausen Evil Experiment
Grade = C-
This just gets worse as the months go on. I understand you need to have something for the kids but it doesn’t exactly work when you have the child friendly character Danhausen swear during the segment. Then, you have Gunther throwing pumpkins at midgets, another huge letdown. The Finn Balor save was much too late to save the segment. The Demon was cool and the only thing that kept this from being an F.
Sami Zayn defeats Trick Williams to retain the WWE World Championship
Grade = B
Zayn even got a good match out of Trick Williams. Sami can do just about anything right now and if they find a way for him to sneak a win over Reigns at Crown Jewel, it may tear the house down in Saudia Arabia!
