The road to WrestleMania took another major step tonight with WWE Elimination Chamber. Here are some news and notes to come out of the chamber.

The Miz cashed in like he said he would.  McIntyre had just outlasted 5 other men in a grueling Chamber match only to be attacked post-match by Bobby Lashley. My guess is now Lashley will demand a match with Miz for helping him. Teh booking seems a tad odd considering Miz’s partner John Morrison cost him his belt earlier in the night.

I’m not sure who holds the strap going into Mania, but one thing is clear, it will be Drew McIntyre challenging whomever is the champion at that time as they try once again to get McIntyre his WrestleMania moment.

As expected, Roman Reigns held onto the WWE Universal Championship tonight with an easy victory over the uber popular Daniel Bryan following the Chamber match in which Bryan won. After taking apart the exhausted Bryan who led off the match, Reigns was attacked by Edge.

This made it clear that it will now be Edge vs Roman Reigns for the WWE Universal Championship at WrestleMania.  If Edge wins, he will be the only man in history to win all 3 World Championships in WWE.  I think it is a smart choice as the promo’s leading up to this one will be epic.

Edge will be sure to point out how the fans never accepted the force-fed Reigns like they did with him.  Clearly, Paul Heyman will get to do some of his best work during this feud as well. It should be fun to watch as with Edge’s injury history they will keep the physicality light heading into this one.

One quick note with the LGD screens in the Thunderdome.  I think we’ve hit our limit with all of this already.  Bring in fans, socially distant and continue to pump in the crowd noise.  But with these boards, nothing separates a Raw from a Smackdown from a PPV, it all looks identical. I don’t like it.

Matt Riddle is now United States Champion as he defeated John Morrision in the three-way match.  Classic booking here as the champion lost his belt without getting pinned.  That being the case will help continue the feud for Bobby Lashley and Riddle moving forward.

While it is not official yet, Bianca Belair and Sasha Banks losing to Nia Jax and Shayna Baszler tonight pretty much guarantees a banks vs Belair match on Mania. It will come in with plenty of hype much like Jericho vs Punk at 28, and Nakamura vs Styles at 34 did.  Those two did not live up to the hype, will this one?
