Who Will Win Big At WWE MITB In Vegas?

WWE will attempt to take on the UFC in their hometown this Saturday Night in Vegas with Money In The Bank.  The WWE had been attempting to add this to their “Premium PPV” list, including it with WrestleMania, Survivor Series, SummerSlam and The Royal Rumble.

The event was supposed to be held at the Allegiant Stadium in the Las Vegas suburb of Paradise, Nevada. However, low ticket sales and Dana White put a stop to that. On May 26, 2022, however, it was announced that the event had been moved to the nearby MGM Grand Garden Arena.

It’s fight week in Vegas, and the WWE had no chance taking on the UFC with what will be the biggest UFC card of the year.  All that being said, the MITB card will start early in the evening and only cross over the UFC show by about an hour or so.

Enough of the politics talk, let’s get to the picks starting on page two!

Bianca Belair vs Carmella for the Raw Women’s Championship

Prediction – This is simply a hold over match for Belair until her showdown at SummerSlam with Becky Lynch.  The WWE needs to give her enough “filler” to get to SummerSlam and set for the big one with Big Time Becks.  Carmella has no chance and this is just filler.  This is almost IDENTICAL to what they did last year with Belair during her summer run.

Theory defends his United States Title against Bobby Lashley

Prediction – Theory will retain the strap and then call out John Cena for Slam.  Lashley deserves so much better than what he has been given as of late, but sadly, he will be remembered as a pandemic champ, and not much more in this run with the WWE.

Ronda Rousey defends her Smackdown Women’s Championship against Natayla Neidhart

Prediction – This is simply a hold over match for Rousey until her showdown at SummerSlam with Charlotte Flair.  The WWE needs to give her enough “filler” to get to SummerSlam and set for the big trilogy match with Flair.  Nattie has no chance and is just filler.  This is almost IDENTICAL to what they did last year with Belair during her summer run towards slam.

The Uso’s defend their tag titles against The Street Profits

Prediction – This is simply a hold over match for The Uso’s until her showdown at SummerSlam with the returning RKO Bro.  The WWE needs to give them enough “filler” to get to SummerSlam and set for the big match with RKO Bro.  The WWE cannot decide if they want the Profits to wrestle Heel or face, or what brand they even want them on.  There is no way they are putting the straps on them.

Mens Money in the Bank Ladder Match

Prediction – This one will get pretty spicy, pretty quickly.  My thought is that Drew McIntyre will walk away with the briefcase.  Riddle seems destined for tags for a while, Omos isn’t ready. Sheamus and Rollins have both already won one in the past. Sami Zayn is a perennial loser and the TBD is still unknown without any build.

Will all that to be accounted for, I stand by the McIntyre pick and here is why.  The WWE returns to the United Kingdom for their first big stadium show on PPV in many years. They will need a major headliner and to me, that is Drew for Roman Reigns for the strap on September 3rd.  I think the Scottish Warrior wins at MITB and then sets the table for that giant event.

Women’s Money in the Bank Ladder Match

Prediction – I honestly have no clue.  Lacey Evans is getting ready for a major heel turn.  Becky Lynch doesn’t need to win and she can still make a serious case to face Belair at Slam for the strap in a cage.  They haven’t booked Bliss properly in years.  How many chances do you really want to give Liv Morgan?  Raquel Rodriguez is still too new to the main roster and Shotzi Blackheart seems to have already fallen out of favor.  Asuka is fresh off a loss and a former winner, so that pretty much destroys her chances as well.

This is a prediction piece and that makes me have to make a selection, so here it is and why.  I think the WWE finally gets their crap together and realizes just how big Alexa Bliss can be.  She has proved it as a heel countless times, let her wrestle as a babyface this time and see what she can do.

She’s cute, she can work the microphone and she can go in the ring with anyone.  Why not give her the briefcase one more time, and let her keep it for more than one night to see what kind of storylines she can put together with it.  Raw is in desperate need of help, placing the case with Bliss is a start!

Or, does the WWE throw a gigantic monkey wrench into everything, and open their own forbidden door by bringing in Mickie James to shock the world as the show goes off air?  It’s Vegas, anything can happen….
