Week 2 Northeast Ohio Football Top Five

Avon Eagles (1-0, Last Week: 49-7 vs. Brunswick)

The Eagles kicked off their season with a 49-7 win over Brunswick, which they dominated from start to finish. Taking over the reins of the offense, QB Nolan Good put up 204 yards and three touchdowns through the air and another 68 yards and a score on the ground. RB Jakorion Caffey added 121 yards and two touchdowns. This week, Avon will travel down I-77 to take on the Canton McKinley Bulldogs (1-0) at Tom Benson Hall of Fame Stadium.

 

Avon Lake Shoreman (1-0, Last Week 19-14 vs. Strongsville)

The Shoreman won a defensive battle in a 19-14 matchup with Strongsville in Week 1. Alex Affolter threw a touchdown in his first start at QB, and Jake Bova added two scores on the ground. Defensively, Luke Stuewe came away with two interceptions. Avon Lake will visit Benedictine (0-1) on Thursday night.

 

Cleveland Heights Tigers (1-0, Last Week: 46-21 @ Berea-Midpark)

The Tigers ground game exploded for 365 yards in their Week 1 road win over the Berea-Midpark Titans. All-Ohio RB Marquise Davis carried the ball 21 times for 228 yards, three touchdowns, and two interceptions on defense, one of which he took 80 yards for a score. Cleveland Heights is back in action Saturday afternoon when they host Paramus Catholic (NJ).
