In a surprisingly close dual between the Valley Forge Patriots of Parma and the North Olmsted Eagles, the Patriots held on to win 42-37! Senior Matthew Chalkwater of the Eagles, ranked #24 in the state at 165, picked up an impressive win on senior night. Rankings courtesy of Billy Schaefer at borofanohio.net

106 lbs: FORFEIT

126 lbs: Anthony Wing (FORGE) FALL Brandon Alioa (NOHS): Forge continued its dominance. Wing with the half-nelson to scoop up another quick fall!

132 lbs: Jayxavier Garcia (FORGE) FALL Nathan Holtz (NOHS): Garcia hit a perfect fireman’s carry to collect the quick 3 points. Holtz escaped but Garcia hit a go-behind takedown to go up 6-1 at the end of the 1st period. Garcia with another takedown right into the fall! The Patriots are on a roll!

138 lbs: Phill Kennedy (NOHS) FALL Logan Mariner (FORGE): Kennedy helped shift the momentum towards the Eagles with a beautiful double leg. He secured the fall just 30 seconds into the match.

144 lbs: Stanley Campbell (NOHS) MAJOR DEC. Gabe Wright (FORGE) 8-0: In a low-scoring neck and neck 1st period, there was no score. Wright began the 2nd period on bottom as Campbell looked for a cradle to no avail with the score continuing to be 0-0 at the start of the 3rd. Campbell, after Wright chose neutral, took advantage to get the takedown to open up the scoring 4-0. Campbell then locked up a huge cradle to collect 4 near fall points. He is your winner by major decision 8-0!

150 lbs: Michael Foster (FORGE) FALL Donny Ghazoul (NOHS): Ghazoul looked pretty solid early with the takedown into a cradle, but Foster fought it off to stay alive. After an absolutely mind-boggling exchange, Foster got a turk from the top position to pin Ghazoul! WOW!

157 lbs: Kyle Allain (NOHS) FALL Daniel Sanabria (FORGE): In arguably the most exciting match of the night, Allain scored first with a takedown after ferocious defense from Sanabria. Allain held a 3-1 lead going into the 2nd period. After his second locking hands call, Sanabria was only a point behind. Sanabria then tied it up 3-3 after an escape! Allain then escaped on bottom to begin the 3rd period but Sanabria had a few tricks up his sleeve, scoring a takedown and near fall to go up 10-4! ALLAIN WITH A HUGE FALL 2 SECONDS LEFT IN THE MATCH! THE EAGLES BENCH WENT WILD!

165 lbs: Matthew Chalkwater (NOHS) FALL Maksym Petrechko (FORGE): Chalkwater was a beast from his feet, hitting a bread and butter front headlock. After 4 back points, Chalkwater held a 7-0 lead going into the 2nd period. Chalkwater was unstoppable from the neutral position, scoring yet again making the score 10-0. After a half-nelson, Chalkwater is your winner by fall!

175 lbs: Amir Abukhail (FORGE) FALL Charles Osboene (NOHS): Abukhail with a takedown straight into a bundle, collecting 4 nearfall going up 7-0. Abukhail scored yet again with a breathtaking fireman’s carry. He caps off his dominant performance with a fall!

190 lbs: Mohammed Muntaser (NOHS) DEC. Juan Ruiz (FORGE) 8-6: This match was a dogfight, neither wrestler scored in the 1st period. A Muntaser escape and then a Ruiz takedown opened up the score making it 3-2 after yet another Muntaser escape. Muntaser put the crowd on their feet with a big mat return making the score 5-3! But, Ruiz still had some fight left in him gaining an escape and a neutral choice to start the 3rd. MUNTASER WITH THE TAKEDOWN TO GO UP 8-5! HE IS YOUR WINNER BY DECISION!

215 lbs: Ameer Aldarraji (NOHS) FALL Christian Cosgarea (FORGE): This match was all Aldarraji, as his single leg turned into a very quick fall! North Olmsted battling back!

285 lbs: Robert Quarles (NOHS) FALL Jose Rivera (FORGE): The 1st period in the battle of the big men produced no points. Quarles quickly escaped and got the pin, but the comeback was not enough for the Eagles as they dropped the dual 42-37.

North Olmsted showed tremendous grit and fight, but the Patriots were just too much for the Eagles to handle. As the season begins to conclude, the Eagles still have a few opportunities left to pick up some dubs.
