Valley Forge Patriots Take Close Win Against Normandy Invaders

The Normandy Invaders hosted the Valley Forge Patriots in week nine. Normandy started with the ball and received a first down at the 43-yard line. Quarterback, Elijah Gray carried the ball 16 yards to the 22-yard line. Austin Simmons ran 18 yards for an Invaders touchdown. 

The Patriots had a first down at the 42-yard line and again at the 20-yard line. Ben Farson scored a touchdown for the Patriots and the extra point was good. The score at the end of the first quarter was 8-7, Normandy Invaders. 

A little later, Nick Mankins rushed the ball 15 yards to the 39-yard line. Farson ran to the Invader’s 29-yard line. A 10-yard pass to Farson was complete, and he ran the rest of the 10 yards for another Patriots touchdown. 

The Invaders started at the 50-yard line. Austin Konicki caught a perfect pass 35-yard throw from Gray. Gray scored another touchdown for Normandy and Neni Illic scored the extra point. The halftime score was 15-14, Normandy Invaders. 

The Patriots started at the 25-yard line, and Dan Kiewel ran an outstanding 60 yards to the 17-yard line. Farson carried 5 more yards, and the Patriots scored a touchdown with a complete extra point, just in the first few minutes of the game. 

The Invaders’ pass was intercepted, giving the ball back to the Patriots at the 20-yard line. Within just two minutes, they made their way back down the field, and Farson carried again to the 5-yard line. Dan Kiewel scored for the Patriots and the extra point was complete. 

The Invaders recovered quickly, as Kairo Dillard ran 30-yard for the Invaders. Gray sent a 20-yard complete pass to Dillard, to leave them at the 10-yard line. Tony Fallert caught the 10-yard pass for an Invaders touchdown, with a complete extra point. 

The Patriots started at the 50-yard line after kickoff and slowly made their way down the field to the 20-yard line. Kiewel ran the ball 20 yards for a Patriots touchdown. 

Gray’s 33-yard pass was completed to Simmons, which left them at the 32-yard line. The Invaders made their way down to the endzone and Dziedzicki scored again. Simmons’ two-point conversion attempt was also complete. 

Patriots, Daniel Scheffler, ran the ball 15 yards to the Invader’s 27-yard line, then carried 10 yards. Unfortunately, only one yard away from a touchdown, the ball was stolen by the Invaders. Darrius Calhoun ran the ball down the full field (99 yards) for an Invaders touchdown and the extra point was complete. 

Farson caught a 20-yard pass for a Patriots touchdown with 1:16 left in the game. The extra point was complete. 

Bryant caught a complete 40-yard pass from Gray, which left the Invaders at the 28-yard line with 3 seconds left. Both teams played an excellent game but tonight we congratulate Valley Forge Patriots, as the final score was 40-37.
