Rei Tsuruya over Kevin Borjas
Reaction – Tsuruya is now 21-1 with a 68 inch reach for the 125 fighter. He’s looked sharp in the UFC and puts his opponents away quickly. Tonight was no different as Borjas couldn’t even get out of he first.
Bilal Hasan KO’d Nilson Rojas
Reaction – The battle of two unbeatens was sure to have fireworks. Hasan has been on a tear ending his last half dozen fights by TKO. He kept up the hard hitting and quick finishes tonight with a straight right to the skull of Rojas that put him out for good 2:28 of the second round.
Kai Asakura defeated Aoriqileng
Reaction – Since 2023, both have had their share of losses, more so then wins. This was not a fight of two elite, but rather two men desperate for a win. Asakura is lightening quick and had a chance to spark some highlights with a KO and he did exactly that with the second round head kick finish here.
Andre Lima chokes out Namsrai Batbayar in the 3rd round.
Reaction – Lima was my upset special. He was coming off the first loss of his 11-1 career and I fully expected him to bounce back.
Umar Nurmagomedov gets knocked out by Song Yadong
Reaction – At 8-1 in the UFC, Nurmagomedov had been on a tear and was a heavy favorite to win the main event. For Yadong, he had the hometown crowd which ended up carrying him to the shocking KO victory at the crowd went nuts!
Hector Santiago Knocked out Lawrence Lui at 53 seconds of the second round
Reaction – This one was a toss up coming in as both men appeared equal. Santiago proved to be too fast and caught Lui flat footed, putting him out.
