UFC FIGHT NIGHT Hernandez vs. Rodrigues Hot Takes!

The Main Event

Take – It may have not been the most thrilling of fights and didn’t exactly leave people clamoring for a rematch or either man to return to a main event anytime soon, but at the end of the day you cannot take away the fact that Gregory Rodrigues def. Anthony Hernandez on all 3 cards, easily. Where this puts Rodrigues in title contention for a Middleweight Championship match, it was his fifth win in a row and we cannot take that from him.

The Main Card prior to the main event

Take – Explosive results as 4 of the 5 fights had a conclusive finish and 3 of those 4 ended in the first round.  RDR needed a win to get his name back in main event contention and got one with a dominant first round TKO of Roman Dolize who looked outclassed.  Perhaps the performance of the Main card came from Carli Judice who TKO’s Jeisla Chaves with a nasty front kick to the body that led to punches for the win in just 1:39.

Official results of those 5 fights

  • Main Card:
    • Vitor Petrino defeated Serghei Spivac via unanimous decision (3 rounds, 5:00).
    • Reinier de Ridder defeated Roman Dolidze via TKO (punches) in round 1 (4:01).
    • MarQuel Mederos defeated Mason Jones via TKO (elbows and punches) in round 2 (2:07).
    • Carli Judice defeated Jeisla Chaves via TKO (front kick to the body and punches) in round 1 (1:39).
    • Anthony Wint defeated Terrance Chatman via technical submission (arm-triangle choke) in round 1 (4:29)

The Undercard

Take – The undercard was absolutely explosive with finishes in 6 of 7 fights.  Of those 6, 5 of them came via KO with 4 ending in the very first round. Too often fans will sleep on the undercard and they shouldn’t.  Sometimes, this is where you see some of the best knockouts of the night and tonight was proof of that!

  • Preliminary Card:
    • Jamall Emmers defeated Lerryan Douglas via TKO (punches) in round 1 (3:38).
