Reaction- Magomed took while to get going but this fight was never in doubt. He led from start to finish and it seemed like only a matter of time until he finished Gudkov off. For Gudkov, it looked like he knew pretty early on that he couldn’t win and made his mission solely to survive. He almost did until the pressure of Magomed got to be too much.
For Ankalaev, this is his first win since losing the UFC Light Heavyweight Championship to Alex Pereira last October. As many recall, it was last March that Ankalaev won a razor close decision over Pereira in the first place, to get the title. Is he as good as he was tonight, or somewhere in between that and the guy who was knocked out in just 1:20 by Pereira last October. Either way, Ankalaev will be in more main events soon and hang around the title picture at 205.

The Undercard ended with 4 straight brutal finishes. We saw a very rare Heavyweight calf slicer submission from Valter Walker over Thomas Petersen at just 1:32 of the first round. Heavyweights have never been known for crafty submissions, so this was cool to see.
Dustin Jacoby took one step closer to retirement as the 39 year old lost his 5th fight in his last 9 attempts. Of those 5 losses. only 2 have come via KO or submission, but at 39 with no hopes of a title shot, what more is he handing on for?
