UFC FIGHT NIGHT: Allen vs. Duncan: 3 Take Aways

UFC FIGHT NIGHT: Allen vs. Duncan

Takeaway One – CLD is not ready for the main spotlight.  Despite all the hype coming in for Duncan after 5 straight wins coming in with two of them coming on thrilling spinning back fists, excitement was high for him but he fell flat tonight.  Brendan Allen dominated from start to finish, even overcoming an illegal early blow to bounce back and look very strong.  Allen will now have to go back to the drawing board.

Takeaway Two – Niko Price is back and has no plans on going away again anytime soon.  Despite retiring in March, Price returned to competition to face Leon Shahbazyan tonight and needed only 1:58 to knock him out!  n his post-fight interview, he said, “You might see me again, you never know,” leaving open the possibility of a return.  At 37, his days of competiting for a title are more than likely done for good, but he showed tonight he can still put on exciting fights and be an asset to the UFC.

Takeaway Three – For the second straight weekend, the undercard provided serious action and highlights.  6 of the 7 undercard fights ended in brutal finishes with 5 of them not even getting out of the first round.  This was all part of a card that saw 7 knockouts and 9 fights go to a finish.
