Twinsburg shuts out Brecksville, 21-0, on Senior Night

Twinsburg, Ohio – The host Twinsburg Tigers defeated the visiting Brecksville Bees, 21-0, on Friday night in Suburban League National Division action.

Twinsburg entered Friday’s action 16th in Division II, Region 5, according to JoeEitel.com. Brecksville entered 8th in Division II, Region 6, according to JoeEitel.com.

After the two teams traded punts, Twinsburg drove down to the red zone. On fourth down, junior signal caller Joey Pollock rushed for a one-yard touchdown to put the Tigers ahead, 7-0, with 2:19 left in the first quarter.

Brecksville looked to knot things up, but the Tiger defense held the line and kept the Bees off the board. The Bees would pick off a pass and set up shop deep in Twinsburg territory. However, the Twinsburg defense turned them away again.

Cam Wright made one more big play for the Tigers, picking off Colin Seibert. The Tigers looked to add to their lead, but turned the ball over on downs. Nonetheless, they took a 7-0 lead into the halftime break.

With the ball to begin the third quarter, Joey Pollock launched the ball in the air on a second down. After it was batted in the air, it fell in the hands of CJ Lyden. Lyden would later score on a nine-yard touchdown toss from Pollock, increasing the lead to 14-0 at the 10:05 mark of the third quarter.

Brecksville moved down the field and found themselves in the red zone once again, thanks to a long reception from Michael Dress. He made a diving grab on a fourth-down toss from Colin Seibert. This would have put the Bees on the scoreboard, however, a false start wiped off the score. Twinsburg senior Jaden Dye came up with a big pass deflection on the next play, and the Tigers got the ball back on downs.

Joey Pollock found his way into the red zone once again with a two-yard touchdown run. This increased the Twinsburg lead to 21-0 with remaining in the third quarter.

The Tiger defense made it hold up the remainder of the game to secure the victory.

Twinsburg (5-4, 2-3 SL National), travels to Stow-Munroe Falls on Friday, October 20th, to finish the regular season.

Brecksville (5-4, 2-3 SL National) hosts Nordonia on Friday, October 20th, to finish the regular season.

The signal caller had a huge touchdown run on fourth-and-goal to put the Tigers ahead in the first quarter. He also tossed a TD pass in the third, and ran for his second score later in the stanza.
