Billy Gunn was a seasoned tag wrestler from his Smoking Gunn days when he teamed with Jesse James. At first, they looked like pure death and appeared to be a short term tandem headed for a split. Everything would change as they took on the moniker of “The New Age Outlaws” and became a force in the Attitude Era.
The night after WrestleMania 14, they joined DX and stamped their ticket to legendary status. They dominated the tag ranks and piled up Championship Gold. They held wins over every big-name team you can think of from that era. The APA, The Rock N Sock Connection, Chainsaw Charlie and Cactus Jack, The Legion of Doom and the list goes on and on.
Now, I already now what the “smarks” are ready to come at me with. Yes, I fully realize that DX went into the Hall of Fame in 2019, but that was as a group. As you will see in a future article where I will mention Chyna, the New Age Outlaws deserve their own induction.
