The WrestleMania Main Event Is The Story Of Redemption

At Kee On Sports we are blessed to have multiple sponsors for our Sports Entertainment content.

The main event of WrestleMania appears to be Roman Reigns defending his WWE Universal Championship against Edge.  However, anyone who has been paying attention can already see it will now be a triple threat between Edge, Daniel Bryan and Roman Reigns.  I for one, couldn’t be happier that the WWE creative team is taking the easiest and one of the best storylines every handed to them on a silver platter.

This main event goes beyond wrestling, it reflects strictly on redemption and heartbreak.  Two things a lot of us have experienced this past year.  When it comes to wrestling, there aren’t 3 performers who have experienced heartbreak, perseverance and redemption quite like these 3 men.

I’m not talking about Roman Reigns, Daniel Bryan and Edge.  I’m referring to the men themselves, Joe Anoa’i, Bryan Danielson and Adam Copeland. All of them rose to the top of their profession to become multi time World Champion, only to have fate end their careers in their prime.

Each man had to walk away from the sport they loved, the sport they excelled at and the career they built for themselves.  Adam Copeland in 2011 from numerous neck and spine injuries.  Bryan Danielson in 2015 from Concussion and brain injuries and Joe Anoa’i in 2018 from Leukemia. All of them World Champions who thought they would be walking away forever at the very top of their game.

These men are fathers, husbands, providers and they risked it all by attempting comebacks.  I don’t want to hear about wrestling being scripted when it comes to this match. I don’t want to hear about the dreaded “f word”.  The only words needed to describe this match are heart, courage and the will to survive.  All 3 men embody the American spirit.  And yes, I get the irony of Edge being from Canada.

These men are here because they love what they do.  They love the roar of the fans and they have worked their lives for this.  These men are here because they defied all the odds by making comebacks when everyone thought it was over.

Anyone looking for inspiration, a reason to fight for a better life and the will to survive, need not look any further than this match. We are headed for an epic main event because Joe, Bryan and Adam, refused to give up.  It’s just that simple.

I’m Vince McKee, and those are my thoughts.
