The One Former Champ the AEW Women’s Division Badly Needs to Return

With Toni Storm leaving AEW for a “long amount of time” it is almost apparent that is pregnant.  They have said several times that she is not hurt and it is not for a movie role of any kind, this would lead a fan to believe she is pregnant.  If it is true or not, it doesn’t matter because the result is the same, the already thin AEW Women’s Roster is losing one of their biggest stars.

AEW has gained a ton of momentum the last six months and has seemed to once again gain traction on the WWE.  The difference is however, the Women’s roster in WWE in the deepest in all of wrestling, especially when you factor in how loaded the NXT Womens roster is as well.

With that being said, AEW can ill afford to lose Storm but seemingly has one choice.  This got me thinking about past AEW World Women’s Champs and who can possibly comeback and give the division a good jolt.  With that, I went back and simply looked at the former champions and it became clear that only one could make the kind of difference they need.

Here’s the list

Mercedes Moné

So, the conclusion is this.  With Cargill and Monroe now in WWE, Shida and Rosa sparsely used and Saraya seemingly retired, one name stands out above the rest, Dr. Britt Baker DDS.  This is a chance to bring her back and instantly spark a feud with Thekla or Willow, depending on what belt you want her to chase.  Heck, she could even do serious numbers on the undercard in a feud with Mercedes Monroe.

Whatever the case may be, Baker still has the fans behind her and is young enough that ring rust shouldn’t affect her too bad.  She hasn’t wrestled in two years; it is now or never again for Baker in AEW.
