The Iron Claw: Five Major Mistakes in the Film

Kevin Von Erich was never in contention to win the NWA Title from Harley Race

They tried to make it seem like Kevin Von Erich was in contention to defeat Harley Race for the NWA Championship.  In reality, the NWA were building Ric Flair to win it from Race at that exact time, in which he did at the inaugural Starrcade. Kevin set the tone for the family, but the only one in real contention was David Von Erich, and may have, had he not passed away in Japan.

  1. Very good review. I noticed all 5 points you discussed. Give Iron Claw another 90 minutes and the makers could have effectively told the Chris and Lance stories. Other points were embellished to build an compelling narrative.
