The Iron Claw: Five Major Mistakes in the Film

Chris Von Erich is completely erased from history.

The movie tells the true stories of little Jack Von Erich who died at 5 years old from electrocution.  It covers in detail the suicides of Kerry and Mike Von Erich as well.  It details everything that was great about David Von Erich before he died, and the movie itself was based on Kevin Von Erich.  However, one major misstep was the complete exclusion of Chris Von Erich.

Chris was the youngest brother, and by far the smallest.  Like Mike and Kerry, he also committed suicide, but for reasons too numerous to list all of them, the film makers decided to completely erase him from history.  Several times in the film, different characters would list all of the brothers, one by one, and each time, no mention of Chris.

They also kept showing a picture on the wall of all the brothers, and Chris was erased from history.  He was easily the most forgettable of the brothers, but still, this is the type of thing that may anger fans as well.

  1. Very good review. I noticed all 5 points you discussed. Give Iron Claw another 90 minutes and the makers could have effectively told the Chris and Lance stories. Other points were embellished to build an compelling narrative.
