The Hudson Explorers played a marvelous game against the Brecksville-Broadview Heights Lady Bees. There was great gameplay from both teams throughout, making it exciting to watch.

The Explorers’ offense really showed up for the team, scoring seven points in the first quarter while the Lady Bees struggled to score at all. Ella Kennedy, sophomore midfielder for the Explorers, scored the first goal of the game. Kennedy made a great play by stealing the ball in the Lady Bees’ attack zone and ran down the field to score. The Hudson Explorers did just that and scored right at the start of the second quarter. Jocelyn Vogel, junior midfielder for the Explorers, scored her first goal of the game. Vogel was another key player for the Explorers, scoring five points altogether. The Lady Bees finally made a push to get on the board with a score from junior midfielder Jayla Collard.

Right before the second quarter ended, the Lady Bees managed to score again, keeping the fight alive going into the half. Cate Gutridge, junior midfielder for the Lady Bees, scored her only goal of the night. At the end of the second quarter, the score was 9-2.

The Explorers continued to play great offense at the start of the second half. They were able to expand their lead to 15-2 by the end of the third quarter. One other notable goal scorer from the Explorers is sophomore midfielder/defender Ashli Pearson. Pearson made some great plays defensively and still managed to score two points during the game.

As the fourth quarter started, the Lady Bees tried their best to score and succeeded with two more points. However, the Lady Bees just could not keep up with the Explorers, resulting in a devastating loss of 18-4 to the Explorers.
