The Bachelorette Brings Firetrucks, Fun and Trust Issues On Night One

Another season of The Bachelorette began tonight with the lovely Michelle.  Certain men jumped out, while others found brand new ways to get sent home.  So many questions to answer after just one night.  Let’s take a stab at answering a few of them.

Did The Bachelorette just commit a crime by breaking into Ryan’s luggage?

I’m not saying what Ryan did wasn’t a bit creepy.  However, I think it is a bit odd that Tayshia and Katelyn would have cart blanche to rifle through his stuff.  Did no one else find that just the slightest bit odd?

First off, I’m all about prepping for any assignment or opportunity that comes your way.  In fact, this young man knew he would only have a few minutes opening night to do things to grab her attention so he prepared and went for it.  The problem was, how he went for it.

That aside though, how in the world is it okay to go through someone’s personal belongings?  Everything about how and what went down tonight with the entire Ryan situation seemed a slight bit fake, and just weird.  I’m glad it’s over, because that may have just gotten even weirder as the weeks went on.

Can Joe Coleman be trusted?

Well, from the preview of future episodes, it sure looks like he goes far this season.  I thought it is great that it appears that they are out in public again as well, at a baseball game.  That was sorely lacking the last few seasons when they couldn’t leave the set. Off sight dates are my favorite part of this show.

As for Joe though, I don’t know about this guy either.  You always want what you cannot have, and Michelle is no different.  She is a competitor, don’t forget that.  All great athletes are and she looks at Joe as a time in which she “lost”.  The competitor in her wants to right that wrong and eventually break up with him so she can say she have the upper hand.  It may sound insane, but people think that way.

Also, it won’t be long until the other guys put two and two together that they knew of each other before the show started.  When you’re living around other people 24/7 for days on end, secrets come out. Not to mention the fact that if Joe and Michelle do grow close, the other men will look for every piece of dirt possible.  It happens every year.

Who are the favorites to win?

Chris G, the non-profit speaker.  He is from Canada, and whether it is beer, hockey players or pro wrestlers, Canada produces winners, he will go far on that fact alone eh?

Spencer from Cleveland based solely on the fact he is from Cleveland, and I need a local guy to root for.  The last time I had to root for a local product, was MJ on Matt James season, and she was AWFUL!  So hopefully this one turns out a bit better.

Rodney the Apple guy seems genuine, and because of that, will be easy to pull for.

Both Daniel the Fireman and PJ the fireman have a great chance to do well.  Based solely on the fact that a lot of women buy calendars featuring half naked firemen.  You know, after all the ones featuring sportswriters and bill collectors are sold out that is.

Rick the Table guy took a chance and it appeared to pay off thus far.  Afterall, James the Box guy stuck around long enough on Katies season by making such an impression night one.

Finally, Martin stands a chance to win the whole thing. I base this solely on the fact that they keep showing him on all the previews that go deep into the season.  Where there is smoke, there is fire.

Finally, which men don’t have a snowballs chance in Hell?

Jaime is fake and just comes across as a life insurance salesman trying hard to seem real when he isn’t.  He wants you to think he cares, but is just interested in selling Michelle on what he thinks she wants.

Nayte got the first impression rose, but that typically turns into the kiss of death. Not to mention the fact that he appears to be involved in drama later on, and one staple this show has is that if you’re in the middle of conflict, you get sent packing.

Speaking of drama, I would LOVE to root for my fellow Italian Peter, but he appears to get wrapped up in the Nayte drama which will spell his end.

Brandon J seems very nice, genuine and there for the right reasons.  But eventually, summer was over and I’m sure he had to leave to go back to high school.  Afterall, senior year is extremely important and fun.

Clayton seemed like a sure thing winner, until my wife informed me that he is the next Bachelor, and thus stands no chance.  I do see him getting to the final 3 however.

On to next week we go!
